COLOR, COLOR, EVERYWHERE!

Day one in my new place, and the first thing I knew I HAD to do was paint. What a difference color makes to transform a whitewashed room into a cool oasis of calm, of energy, or excitement. I had a palette, had picked out more colors than I knew what to do with from more stores than I could count...I had spent countless days wondering which famous painter to go with; Sherman? Benjamin? Martha? Mr. Behr? I landed on Mr. Moore...Benjamin, that is...after doing my fair share of online research (they also have a cool "paint your room" program on their website...very helpful), and picked up my paint. Time to get dirty!

First was the bedroom. I love a green palette in the bedroom for its calm and serene energy, like a forest. My last bedroom has been painted green (though a little to jungle-y if I look back on it). I wanted to go with a bit more muted of a palette. And I am thrilled with how it turned out!

The main living room was next. I wanted a silvery grey color, and I thought I had what looked PERFECT! I even painted three walls with it before realizing it was a bit too baby blue for my taste. It was a battle to determine whether or not to re-paint the room, but I hadn't even done half the walls yet, so I thought "WHY NOT!?" I am thrilled with how it came out. Silver Sateen! The abundance of light makes the grey seem not so dull, and with a pop of dark blue/gray color in the entranceway, there's a nice cool feeling to the whole living room.

Now all I need is some furniture.
